Valdy Wiratama at ACM UMAP 2026

EXDIGIT doctoral researcher Valdy Wiratama attended and presented at the 34th ACM Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (UMAP 2026), which is an A-rated conference. This year, the conference was held in Gothenburg, Sweden.

He presented his paper “Towards a Stakeholder-Centered Auditing Framework for Assessing Fairness in (Music) Recommender Systems” as part of the Doctoral Consortium. The work focuses on developing an algorithmic auditing framework for recommender systems that takes multiple stakeholder perspectives and interests on fairness into account, with a particular focus on the music domain.

During the Doctoral Consortium, Valdy received rich feedback from his mentors Nava Tintarev and Robin Burke, as well as from fellow researchers working on user modeling, personalization, recommender systems, and human-centered AI.

He also served as a student volunteer, which provided valuable insights on how scientific conferences are organized. It also provided further opportunities for exchange with the international UMAP community.
