Publication at A*-rated conference CHI 2026
PhD researcher Anouk van Kasteren (Utrecht University) presented a poster at the CHI 2026 conference (ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems), an A*-rated and leading venue in human-computer interaction. The research was led by Anouk van Kasteren as part of a collaborative team effort, including EXDIGIT professor Christine Bauer.
Study context
• Investigates how context influences travelers’ route choices during public transport disruptions.
• Explores how context-aware decision support systems can better assist travelers during disruptions.
• Contributes to research in user modeling and personalization.
Team and funding
• Authors: Anouk van Kasteren (lead), and Marloes Vredenborg (Utrecht University), Christine Bauer (EXDIGIT), and Judith Masthoff (Utrecht University).
• Funding: Anouk van Kasteren’s PhD research is funded by the Dutch Railways.
• Supervisors: Judith Masthoff and Christine Bauer.
Looking ahead
A follow-up study based on this research has been accepted to the A-rated UMAP 2026 conference (User Modeling, Adaptation, and Personalization) and will be presented later this year.
