Best Presentation Award at IWPE 2026

Our PhD student Nicola Leschke received the Best Presentation Award for presenting the paper “Alohomora! Facilitating Personal Data Access Through Automated Graph Extraction and Integration” at the International Workshop on Privacy Engineering 2026 (IWPE).

The paper, co-authored by Nicola Leschke (EXDIGIT), Karl Wolf (TU Berlin), and Frank Pallas (EXDIGIT), addresses the question of how personal data from GDPR data subject access requests can be unlocked. To turn the large amounts of data contained in such access requests into useful information, the paper introduces a unified representation of access request data. This is intended to enable further processing down the line, such as visualizations of one’s digital footprint or data portability.

This year, IWPE took place on July 6 in Lisbon, co-located with the EuroS&P conference. The workshop was organized by a team of renowned privacy researchers, including EXDIGIT professor Frank Pallas, who served as General Co-Chair.
