Keynote at the Annual Privacy Forum 2025

At the international Annual Privacy Forum 2025, hosted in Frankfurt this year, Univ.-Prof. Frank Pallas – EXDIGIT professor for Privacy Engineering & Policy-Aligned Systems – gave the final keynote with the title “On Principles, Non-Functional Properties and Technical Experiments – Building Solid Techno-Legal Bridges in Privacy Engineering”. In line with the EXDIGIT vision of interdisciplinary technologies, he presented core concepts for technically materializing legal and societal privacy requirements, fostering the actual practical application of privacy technologies.

The following discussion with high-ranked participants from research, industry, public (oversight) bodies, and regulators again vividly demonstrated the particular connectivity of the approach pursued at the University of Salzburg. Last but not least, the University of Salzburg was also announced as the venue for the Annual Privacy Forum 2026 (https://privacyforum.eu/) – we’re already looking forward to welcoming the APF-community in the shadow of the Hohensalzburg Fortress!
