Interdisciplinary Lecture “Privacy in a digital world”

Due to the huge success in the last year, the public lecture series “Privacy in a digital world” (“Privatsphäre in der digitalen Welt“) is continued in the summer term 2026.
This lecture series aims to provide understandable impressions of the diverse perspectives on privacy and data protection. Scattered over eight lectures, experts of the University of Salzburg and Austria share their insights and research, combining research with practical experience from legal, technical and philosophical domains. At heart, the lecture series targets not only students of the university, but also the interested society. A new feature this year is the recognition as employer training, applicable for all employees of the University of Salzburg.

The lecture series was opened by the organizing team including EXDIGIT Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Pallas, Ass.-Prof. Dr. Sebastian Krempelmeier (FB Öffentliches Recht) and Mag. Michael Hasler, LL.M. (Data Protection Officer) on March 4th. The following seven lectures will feature individual researchers and practitioners in a biweekly rhythm, Wednesdays from 5 PM – 6:30 PM. All talks are in German.
