Great success at the FWF Board of Trustees meeting

Zahra Dabiri’s project impressed the FWF Board of Trustees. Particularly pleasing: her project was submitted as part of the internal Early Career funding program.

Effects of flooding on urban traffic:

In collaboration with Poland, Zahra Dabiri from the AIHI department and team member at Exdigit has set herself the main goal in her WEAVE project of assessing the vulnerability of communities in Poland and Austria to flooding. The study will examine aspects such as the vulnerability of the area and its population and the ability of the population to respond to natural disasters in order to develop solutions for coping with them.

Zahra Dabiri leads the Austrian side of the projects “Spatial differentiation of the level of flood vulnerability of municipalities in Poland and Austria” (link) and “Urban flood impact on transport systems in Poland & Austria” (link), funded by the FWF’s Principal Investigator Projects International program in cooperation with the Polish NCN National Science Centre. The projects are conducted in collaboration with Dr. hab. Marta Borowska-Stefańska and Dr. hab. Szymon Wiśniewski from the University of Łódź, Poland, who lead the Polish side of the projects.
