EXDIGIT Team at the SALZ 2026

At SALZ, Frank Pallas’s team presented the project “Reliable AI for Public Law and Intelligent Decision-Making” (RAPID), a collaboration with Stadt Salzburg and the Faculty of Law at the University of Salzburg, which explores how AI can be used safely and effectively in public administration. With three interactive chatbot variants, visitors were able to experience firsthand the effects of different AI integration strategies.

The “Data & Life Sciences” research group (led by Georg Zimmermann) provided insights into its diverse range of methods, from biostatistics to AI for medical and biological applications—expertise that is also essential for the new BioMed Data Lab at the Life Sciences Center Salzburg (funded by Stadt Salzburg and the Federal Ministry for Women, Science, and Research).

Researchers from Zahra Dabiri’s “Next-generation SAR Analytics and EO Data Integrity (NEED)” group presented examples of both fake and genuine Earth observation images, allowing visitors to vote and explain the reasons for their choices. In addition, the potential of satellite imagery for obtaining reliable information and supporting decision-makers and policymakers—with a focus on optical and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery—was presented and discussed.

We are pleased to look back on a successful presentation of our various research projects within EXDIGIT and thank everyone involved for their outstanding efforts.
